Note that the Novicks questioned the U.S. involvement in the Vietnamese War, viewing this war as having similarities to NAZIism. In this respect having similar views as Esther's friends, Hania Ris and Nancy Ziebur who also opposed McCarthism and Vietnamese war. Of course, Aaron Novick was well known for his political activism, based upon a firm view that the war in Vietnam was immoral, as such Aaron and Jane were true American patriots.
